Apogee seeks a webmaster to provide tech support for our website and email, and to assist in a re-design of our website this summer with our graphic designer. Familiarity with WordPress is a must. This position comes with a stipend, and as the journal is non-profit, you can write off the time spent working on your taxes. We are looking for someone with an interest in literature and the arts who will be excited to join our organization.
Apogee is a journal focused on publishing art and literature that engage with issues of identity politics: race, gender, sexuality, class, and hyphenated identities. Our goal is to publish exciting work that interrogates the status quo, providing a platform for unheard voices, including emerging writers of color.
We release one online and one print journal per year and have produced four issues to date. We have a solid and growing presence on social media and are sold in bookstores around New York City. We also host regular events and are fast building a community of engaged readers and artists who support our mission.
Please send a resume and samples of previous work to zinzi@apogeejournal.org.
