Writing with Fear with Ivelisse Rodriguez

Apogee Journal, with support from Brooklyn Arts Council, presents: Writing with Fear, a digital workshop with Ivelisse Rodriguez. Writing with Fear is the first in Apogee’s Writing Resistance 3.0 workshop series this year. Writing with Fear “is meant to demystify the writing process by indicating that there is no magic solution to writing other than just doing it. However, what impedes us from writing is not as simple as butt not being in the chair, but rather it is the anxiety that permeates through us when we sit down to write. In this workshop, we will focus on writing through our fear while grappling with the negative emotions that too often thwart us. We will utilize goal-setting, journaling, and outlining, among other strategies to write in spite of the dread that shows up at our writing desk.” Writing with Fear originally took place online 4/20/19.

Seats remain open in several Writing Resistance 3.0 Workshops, although space is limited and spots are quickly running out. All other classes will be in-person and are graciously hosted by New York Writers Coalition Conference Room, 80 Hanson Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11217.
