A Poem by Prairie M. Faul

Prairie’s poem, “I THINK THERES ALWAYS A SUBTEXT TO COMPLIMENTS AND IT MAKES ME A BAD CONVERSATIONALIST,” will be published in Apogee Journal Issue 09

I dream of walking through crowds of men and wake up relieved I’m still alive

In the sunlight
A clavicle
Is often mistaken
For a shelf
& men will rest
Their keys
& half packs
Of cigarettes
There
Saying
You are home
Be careful
Of being
Anything
They have
Names
For it all
